Mesothelioma is a rare form of cancer caused by inhaling asbestos fibres. The symptoms of the disease may not appear until months or even years after the asbestos exposure occurred, so mesothelioma sufferers do not always connect the two immediately.

You can read about the causes of mesothelioma on this site, and if you think you're eligible to claim mesothelioma compensation, our mesothelioma lawyers can help you understand your rights, and secure your compensation on a no win no fee basis.

What is asbestos?

Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral with many useful properties including fire resistance and electrical resistance, as well as sound absorption. As a result, asbestos was used heavily in construction in the 1970's, for ceilings, walls, insulation and guttering, among other things.

The use of all types of asbestos was banned in 1999, but by this time it was part of a huge number of homes in the UK. The danger now comes when these homes are refurbished, and asbestos fibres become airborne.

How does mesothelioma affect the body?

Mesothelioma affects the 'pleural lining' of the lungs, or the lung itself. Asbestos fibres get trapped here, and the body's defence system tries to remove them, which leads to swelling or thickening of the tissue.
Unfortunately, mesothelioma cannot be treated, but claiming mesothelioma compensation with our mesothelioma lawyers can help make living with the condition easier.

Our mesothelioma lawyers

Unfortunately, many people are exposed to asbestos without knowing it, or without knowing how to protect themselves from the dangers of asbestos, and they end up contracting mesothelioma as a result.
If the asbestos exposure is caused by an employer's negligence, and if the sufferer has been diagnosed with mesothelioma within the last three years, our mesothelioma lawyers can help them claim no win no fee compensation.

This is because all employers have a duty of care to take practical steps to safeguard the health and safety of the people working for them. In this case, this means making employees aware that they're working with asbestos, providing training on working with asbestos safely, and providing protective equipment or clothing.

Our mesothelioma lawyers are experienced in helping mesothelioma sufferers claim the compensation they deserve, and will do all they can to settle your claim as quickly as possible, but will never cut corners or settle for less than you are entitled to. Call us or start your claim online.
