What is asbestosis?

Asbestosis is a disease caused by long-term exposure to asbestos, where the lungs become aggravated and inflamed as a result of asbestos fibres in the air. It is different to mesothelioma, which is a form of asbestos-related cancer, although the symptoms can be similar for both conditions. Causes of asbestosis are usually related to occupational exposure to asbestos.

Living with asbestosis is not easy as sufferers will generally experience problems such as shortness of breath and chest pain. If the disease has occurred as a result of working conditions, claiming compensation for asbestosis can be a good idea as it can ease any financial difficulties caused by the asbestosis.
